The Oregonalf designed by Spanish based brand, Ecoalf are made with Sorona® which is a biopolymer derived from corn production residues. This upper material reduces the pressure on fossil fuels while the sole contains algae. The algae is considered “recycled”, as it is harvested to clean water channels where it's rapid growth can have a negative effect on ecosystems. Therefore, instead of simply being considered waste, they are used in parts of the sole.
